Latest Technology in Computer Hardware

This is simply a tribute to the rapid pace of evolution in the latest technology in the computer hardware industry. Probably, the new entrant into this archeological collection of peripheral devices is CRT screens.



While not as old as the earliest models of monitors, these screens are still a technological revolution. They were the first to show images directly onto the monitor itself without using a glass surface. And for that reason, these screens were initially associated with high-end CRT televisions.


But this was just the beginning. Today, you can find LCD monitors and plasma displays on the market. These display resolutions are far greater than those of their predecessors, and you can now get an image that looks like it’s floating in midair, or as if it’s floating in midair on a liquid crystal display monitor.


The technology of LCD and plasma displays has come a long way from the first.

But the technology of CRT monitors has not. That is, you cannot get an image like that out of a CRT monitor today. The only thing you can do is to watch videos on a TV.


What is interesting is that we have yet to see another computer hardware market go back to CRTs. It would be such a shame to see such a great technological advancement go to waste. Even though LCD screens are less popular, their popularity is steadily increasing.


When you consider how much more flexible CRTs are than CRT screens, you begin to understand why they are still so popular even today. The technology used by LCD screens is also much more advanced. Because of these advances, LCDs can now be used in a wide variety of computer systems that do not require the use of a CRT.


For example, you can find LCDs that support touchscreens and multi-touch.

Also, they have much larger resolutions. These days, you can see a screen with over 800 pixels on it.


There are also many applications where LCDs are a better option than CRTs, like in medical imaging. However, LCDs are also becoming more popular in other areas of the computer hardware market because of their price tag and reliability.


It is important to know that LCD screens are more expensive than CRTs.

You can get a CRT for only a few hundred dollars. But the LCD is going to cost you several thousand dollars, depending on what model you buy. You also have to consider that these new technologies are becoming increasingly better than the CRT’s that they replace.


So, if your new, improved, or modern-day computer system is going to take advantage of this latest technology, you might want to look at investing in an LCD monitor. over CRT. Even if you think you will never want to change out the old CRT, at least you can save yourself a bunch of money by getting the LCD version.


The problem is that most of us are not aware of what CRT is replaced by when we replace technology. We just assume that CRTs are still the only technology out there.


It has been said that LCDs are faster than CRTs. and that the former is less susceptible to distortion. This is true.


Another thing that CRTs were once good at doing was sharpening the images produced from an earlier CRT. But now, most LCDs can also produce sharper images. so you can get images with no more distortion. which means that the images produced by a CRT will be slightly blurry when you compare them to a properly done LCD.


The fact that LCDs are much cheaper has led to some manufacturers making the newer LCD models with lesser quality components. The result is that there is a slight difference in the quality of the output as well. which is what makes some people think that the older CRT models are superior.


But with all this in mind, it is safe to say that modern technology is here to stay. no matter what the manufacturers claim. and that LCDs why CRT is going to be replaced by something newer.


It would make sense to look into getting a new CRT if your computer is becoming sluggish. or is being affected by a virus or bug.
